“ Best vegan restaurant in Middlesbrough. We ordered the Thai Buddha bowl and healthy hot chocolate. The bowl was very tasty with a generous portion size. It had a large variety of components, with tangy pickled cabbage and kimchi, crunchy and fresh salad, well marinated saucy tomatoes(my favourite part), well spiced falafels topped with sweet mango chutney, and crunchy cabbage and carrot. The dressing was also creamy nutty and flavourful. The centrepiece of orange chickpea tofu was good, with a nice soft texture and sweet citrusy glaze, served with quinoa with a slight taste of ginger to accompany the salad. The hot chocolate was also very good, creamy, nutty, chocolatey and not too sweet. Perhaps among best hot chocolate I have had. Also seemed very healthy with cocoa butter, almond butter and sweetened with maple syrup. All menu items are vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free so it was good nutrition without compromising on flavour. Would highly recommended and would come again. The ambiance was very cozy, with comfortable seating and a hanging basket chair. Range of drink and food options available and our order arrived pretty fast. Server was also very nice and helpful. ”

“ Popped in as I was waiting for someone and looking for anywhere that did coffee to enjoy one of the nicest coffees I’ve had in the area! Blows all the others out the water. So friendly and welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming whenever I’m nearby and trying out some of the jacket potato options! ”

“ Lovely, bright, colourful cafe. You can’t help but smile when you walk in. I’d ordered ahead for takeaway, but I’d have liked to sit in. The food is very fresh, vibrant and nourishing. I had the nachos, I couldn’t believe the portion size, I couldn’t finish it! For me personally, it was a little too much going on in one dish. If I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely be heading to Alkaline Kitchen. ”
